Who are we?

BSW Timber Systems are a leading timber engineering company manufacturing roof trusses and ecojoists based in Ramsgate, Kent. BSW Timber Systems work with Housebuilders and Social Housing Providers to control the sale, design and importation of Alouette's Super E Timber Frame systems in the UK. BSW Timber Systems is 100% owned by BSW Timber plc, the UK's largest sawmilling business.

BSW Timber Systems offer innovative off site timber frame construction solutions based on the principles of system integration, healthy living and environmental sustainability, along with fully engineered roof and floor systems.

System Integration

We offer more than just a structural solution. BSW Timber Systems offers a structural building envelope that addresses the issues of thermal performance and air permeability as well as durability, fire protection, sound transmission, whole house ventilation and energy recovery. We also collaborate on whole house design, energy performance modelling, environmental impact assessment and supply chain integration.


Founded in 1971, Alouette Homes is considered an industry leader in off-site manufactured timber frame homes and its operation is based in Quebec, Canada

How we use Modern Methods of Construction

The BSW Timber Systems house packages are built off-site in Canada and the UK, using pre-engineered timber frame panels, allowing for ideal assembly fabrication conditions, before being shipped to the UK. Using leading edge construction technology, the timber frame houses provide a range of benefits which include lower energy bills, reduced environmental impact, external noise reduction and improved control over odours and humidity. The houses also exceed local housing standards and regulations - including the latest part L requirements.
